Tbh, just make it so that SBU need to be reinforced, and attacker can set the timer on it. +- 24hours. There will be a Tug of war then, and you wont lose all progress because the defender set the timer for their absolute best tz, or the attackers absolute worst tz. Eventually someone will win, but all wont be lost because of one preset blob timer set manually and preemptively by the defender which is a joke.
Or just make TCU require stront for the timer and if people can push you off the tcu and **** cage it, viola random timer again. lose station reinforcement entirely that parts a joke, you either win or you lose, but you shouldnt have to win over and over again, and god forbid you lose once and start over, thats ******ed. At least with old sov you could buffer your attack by having your own sov pos in system, and set the timers all different hours to force enemy to camp system with at least 100+ for days on end, or face the towers being repped.
The defender also can blow up the attacking TCU while its onlining with sniper dreads or I wonder if you could even just drive by DD it with enough titans.. Which is yet another chance to defend your space.
Also whoevers bright idea it was to bring the sov warfare to gates, is an asshat. That pretty much nullifies anyone without a titan from loading grid and being able to defend their sbu / take objective. That will im sure promote smaller alliances doing the new sov warfare.
What CCP meant and I think alot of us missed, they made it so ridiculously expensive for sov now, that most of the craptastic space will be just ignored, and smaller alliances will be needed as pets to help pay for it. They also made a racial moon goo the new fotm, which means the entire south got screwed hence the epic roadtrips to the north, and nerfed the r16s like cadmium to the point that smaller alliances cant even remotely afford sov, without taxing the crap out of their memberbase. And you might as well screenshot the sov map, aside from internal fail cascades, you can pretty much use that for the next year. With current sbu / tcu warfare ruleset.
Flame me if you want, but I think the whole new system sucks. And this is from a practical standpoint of someone thats tried it.
And butterdog, your suggestions just make it so that noone would want to leave home if they hold sov, if 90% of your crap can get destroyed by 30 man roaming gangs that ninja into your space. Those are terrible ideas. The attacker needs to commit, or not, being able to just crap in peoples cereal for the fun of it, with standard roaming gangs is a joke, thats why station services have 99% resists. You want to disrupt peoples space, go in with a 100 man BS fleet/ 20 dreads and reinforce all thier towers and disable all their jb / etc. Or sack it up and drop a sbu and force them to fight.
Also just a gripe from me not related. * nerf all of the dominion upgrades to 300km3 or less, forcing us to use old freighters is also a joke, and further hurts smaller alliances that dont have titans.* (note we have plenty of them, and its not an issue, but I thought this was all about helping out the little guy and getting more people out to 0.0 as something besides pets.)
